Abstract:
Architecture - and architects - have never been more important than they are today. But agile development practices require innovative ways of looking at the contributions architects make, as well as the ways in which they make them.
Interested in learning how following common practice often keeps an enterprise from receiving the full value of architecture? How architects might be hindering their own contributions? What an architect's three most important jobs are, and how to succeed at them? Then join the discussion about architecture's continuing value and how architects (particularly software architects) can evolve within agile organizations to ensure that the enterprise receives that value.
Learning Outcomes:
  • Participants will learn:
  • 1. What architecture can deliver to an enterprise, and how common practice has often failed to provide that value
  • 2. How behaviors often associated with architects can keep them from providing value
  • 3. What an architect's three most important jobs are, and what concrete steps can contribute to success at each of those jobs
