Abstract:
“I have noticed that even people who claim everything is predetermined and that we can do nothing to change it, look before they cross the road” (Stephen Hawking). As agile teams, we know that we can’t know everything, so we shouldn’t waste time thinking about that which we don’t know and can’t predict. However, we still need to understand our product's risks to help us plan where to focus our testing energy. Annette Head shares the story of how her team used a risk census and a risk burn down chart to do just that. Arm yourself with tools to help you and your team stop worrying about the risk monster lurking under the bed and start sleeping peacefully at night.
Learning Outcomes:
  • Attendees will learn how to create a risk census and a risk burn down chart to effectively identify and manage risk in an agile way. This will help teams better plan testing activities. Beyond testing, attendees will learn how the tools can improve communication and help the whole team plan.
